University professorship for Jazz Piano (w/m/d)

Requirements


Employment requirements:

  • Outstanding artistic and artistic-pedagogical qualifications on the piano
  • Independent artistic profile
  • International concert activity
  • Extensive teaching experience
  • A domestic or equivalent foreign university degree or equivalent artistic or artistic-academic aptitude appropriate to the position
  • Regular attendance at the Anton Bruckner Private University and participation in academic self-administration are part of the service obligation.
  • Special aptitude for artistic and/or academic research, which is usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctorate, and/or special aptitude for artistic or, if applicable, subject-related professional activity;

 

Desired qualifications:

  • Stylistic range, experience in contemporary forms of performance and with digital and analogue sound production
  • Willingness to cooperate and work in a team, willingness to work across disciplines
  • Leadership and organizational skills
  • Gender and diversity competence

Note: for applicants who do not already hold a relevant professorship at a recognized domestic or foreign university, additional special artistic achievements, special achievements in the application/development of scientific knowledge and methods in at least five years of professional practice or the presentation of a habilitation must be proven. Role & Responsibilities


  • Leading a jazz piano class as part of artistic and artistic-pedagogical training in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs and, if applicable, supervision of relevant supplementary subjects, in particular didactics and teaching practice or ensemble and improvisation.

  • In addition to teaching courses, the teaching staff's activities include the necessary preparation and follow-up activities, event and examination activities, research and administrative activities associated with teaching, participation in committees and the supervision and assessment of final theses.

  • Scope of employment: 20 hours per week (11h per week teaching)
    (50 % of full time employment)
  • Duration of employment: initially limited to three years, permanent position if evaluation is positive
  • Classification: Salary group B (Functional career path LD 8 of Oö. Gehaltsgesetzes 2001)
  • Remuneration: Monthly gross salary from € 2.731,00 with 11 hours of teaching per week
    (depending on age)
